Sooo this person chose NixOS for their desktop, the worst place to use NixOS. Then they proceeded to get mad that NixOS is not Arch nor Debian. Finally, they accuse the abstractions of being leaky because they could not figure out how to use them because they were trying really hard to half ass learning NixOS. Nice!
Pro tip: it works great if you aren't crying about how its not Arch and you are prepared to write nix expressions. Don't use NixOS on your desktop until you know you are good enough to not find it tedious.
That's just a baseless accusation. The criticism is valid and there's no need to accuse the author of anything. NixOS is intended to be used as a desktop distro, so why not do so.
