Honestly? I'm just glad they are realizing and suffering from it. I'm really done with the US and all the bullshit they are giving the rest of the world. At this point I only wish the country went into a bankrupt and all these fuckers went ito misery. And don't start with the "but they are a minority, not all america is like that". Minority my ass. More than half of the country actively put that cunt in the white house, by actively voting for him or not voting at all because "both sides".
You imposed to the rest of the world a misery that nobody wanted so it's only fair if nobody gives a shit if now you get to taste what you voted.
Majority of voters, the majority of the population either didn't vote or voted for the other person.
I'm sorry to tell you this but not voting means you are ok with any of the alternatives that were voted. So yeah, not voting meant that you considered Harris and Trump to be both ok as your president.

edit: as someone who seems to value metrics so much you’d think you would understand that the majority of americans do not in fact support what is going on, implicitly or not.
Most people who didn't vote, had an opportunity to do so, but decided to not do anything. Sure, there is an amazing number of people who's vote was suppressed, but there is a bigger number of people who decided that both parties are the same, or decided that they can't be fucked to register, or who didn't have stamps at home so they decided to abandon the democracy, and so on and so forth. All of that was a conscious choice, and the choice was Trump, and all the consequences of it.

Sorry, I'm not sure I can care about you when thanks to your elections, a good portion of the world is bracing for an economic and climatic disaster that your president, the one you americans elected, is imposing to the whole world (that couldn't vote in your elections but kept telling you how bad of an idea was to pick him).

After all, none of use were likely alive during past incidents when Americans utterly failed to do the right thing until it was absolutely necessary and directly threatened them. It's a source of constant solace to the rest of the world, which is, of course, why we're selling off your treasury bonds.
The older I get the less I am able to make use of the concept of punishment or even (lasting) guilt. I mean what is even the point of punishing? It just adds more misery on top.
Don't get me wrong: It is necessary to reflect on the bad things one did. But I do not feel like guilt and shame create an environment that promotes this behaviour.
the point of punishing is that a terrifying amount of people, for whatever reason, only understand direct punishments and rewards. They need to hear everyone around them say "fuck you, you fucking suck for doing this thing, get out of my sight" or they will not change ever.
I'd rather we change the minds of the people who did vote for Trump and they have less suffering. No one should suffer, but especially not the large minority that did the right thing and voted against him, only to be lumped in with the Trump voters by peoole such as you.
If they had "less suffering", they would think everything is fine and dandy and their dipshit in chief does a fantastic job. They have been conditioned to ignore reality. They won't listen to any arguments, they'll just call them fake news. Been there, done that.
After years and years of having tried to reach these people with reason, it's time they got a reality check, even if suffering is what it takes.

We tried to warn you, the whole world tried to tell the US how bad for everyone would be to put the tangerine mussolini in the white house. The US ignored every single red flag and now that the country is in the find out phase, we should have empathy for them?

This kind of emotional response is why there's an active genocide in Gaza right now. Hamas killed some folks, they technically represent the population, so...COLLECTIVE PUNISHMENT. People yearning for suffering because some portion of a heterogeneous population is terrible. Go back to the 1930s and say "kill all Nazis" and I'm on board. If you say kill all Germans, though...it's a lack of nuance that at the very least borders on genocidal.
Plenty of us in the USA have suffered and fought our entire lives. We are a nation with an actively oppressed underclass. Even for those with the chance to leave (as I have in the past), we have friends and family here who don't have the means to leave even if they would. Many people are also brainwashed. I know people who had almost no fucking chance growing up. Living in a dilapidated trailer, Fox News blaring on TV, no good education, etc. Yes, people can get out of that, but when your parents are terrible shitheels, and you're surrounded by terrible shitheels, there's a big discussion to be had about how much of a chance someone has to pull themselves up by their bootstraps...and I don't just mean that in terms of improving their economic conditions, but literally the way they think. We need to teach class consciousness worldwide, not consider a large percentage of a population just collateral damage. I don't think it's moral to just consider a quarter of a population to be thrown to the wolves, or even another quarter that's apathetic because of the systems they have no control over brainwashing them into compliance.

You are not suffering a punishment, you are suffering consequences of your elections. The rest of the world is suffering a punishment because of what you elected.

My point was critiquing folks who are gleefully reveling in the suffering of folks in the USA because of the actions of despots. It's easy to do when it's the USA, but when applying the same reasoning to other regions, it's more obviously shitty behavior. I have empathy for Persians suffering under the Iranian regime. I have empathy for folks living in El Salvador dealing with an autocrat abusing power. I have empathy for the kids growing up in Mississippi. I even have some amount of empathy for the redneck down the street who is too fucking stupid to understand that their Republican "leaders" are taking advantage of them. Just like despots around the world. Plenty of innocent enough folks still live in terrible regimes, and IMHO we shouldn't be happy about those folks suffering because a majority of their neighbors are assholes. We should...you know...help those minorities? Not just paint them with a broad brush and bask in their suffering?
TLDR I can have contempt and empathy at the same time, and I'm not going to cheer for the suffering of decent folks who just happen to have been born into a shitty regime, or who've had one foisted on them.
No one should suffer, but especially not the huge majority that couldn't even vote because they were not citizens of the country that now is screwing them so bad.
Being lumped in with other people? That's how things work, dear Americans.
Just ask my German grandpa who got executed for trying to avoid fighting for the Wehrmacht and who is still being called a Nazi soldier by the world because he happened to be on the wrong side of history.
2/3rds of the voting age population did not vote for Trump.
If you have to choose between a fascist and a non fascist politician and you decide to not vote, you are saying that it's fine getting either. So yeah, not voting is saying you are fine with Trump.
Around 20% of voting age population voted against it. The rest was either enthusiasticly pro trump, or were OK with it.

But that's not what happened. What happened is that less than half of the people who voted, did it for Harris. All those who could vote and didn't were fine with the Tangerine Mussolini getting to the white house. If they voted for Harris, we wouldn't be here now talking about how tons of americans are now discovering how everyone telling them how bad this would be for them were, in fact, right.

Americans had two options:
They could vote for a literal fascist
or they could vote for someone who, with all their flaws, was not a literal fascist.
The third option, not voting, meant you were ok with both options, so by not voting, you sent the message of being ok with getting a literal fascist as your president. I'm sorry but that's how it works, if you are ok with having a fascist president, you are, at least, a fascism enabler.
