The Smithsonian said Saturday that it would update an exhibit at the National Museum of American History to reflect all impeachment proceedings in U.S. history after a placard was removed last month.

"As the keeper of memory for the nation, it is our privilege and responsibility to tell accurate and complete histories," the Smithsonian said in a statement.

Hope the director of The Smithsonian doesn’t get fired over this.

[–] Zron@lemmy.world 9 points 14 hours ago

I hope it doesn’t come to that, but I do hope he actually gets fired instead of resigning.

So many people have bent the knee to trump for fear of their jobs.

He’s the director of the Smithsonian, if he still wants or needs work, I’m sure he can get another job. It’s time for people in charge to actually put their foot down and make trump send goons to fire them. Make him actually work a little to destroy this country, instead of rolling over at the first vacant glare he sends their way.

I hope they do for removing it in the first place. Censoring history is unforgivable.

Me too but maybe it is worth more to the director to protect the integrity of the Smithsonian Institute.

A bigger picture type thing.

The director IMO is setting a better example than most us people and politicians.

Or defenestrated.
