Isn't there an ad free version for like $3.99? Why not just do that? Its been so long since I've seen an add using Boost that I kind of forgot it was a thing
because i don't mind the ads as long as they don't start on full volume, and i highly dislike being made to pay money to undo a change that was made
Wasn't Boost for Reddit a paid app? I seem to recall paying money for it.
They had a free version as well, but I'll usually buy an app if they use a one-time-purchase model
Boost's ad-free version might as well be the one-time purchase. It's just more beneficial to the developer to not gatekeep their app behind a paywall by releasing a free version with ads to make up for giving it out for free. Especially when it's an app like this where there's a dozen other alternatives that people try before settling on one. Most users wouldn't even bother trying it if they had to pay up front.
