This isn't politics, it's schadenfreude journalism. We shouldn't get joy from the downfall of a couple who were manipulated by algorithms for profit.

You have every right to be angry. Direct that anger at the folks doing the manipulation not the masses falling for it.

I can be angry at Facebook, which I dumped in 2008, and still feel indifferent towards people who post pro-ICE memes and get deported. These aren’t mutually exclusive things.

There’s no helping the majority of this country, if I can be blunt about it. I’ve been to 46/50 states, and the sheer volume of cognitive dissonance I’ve come across is just mind boggling. A solid voting half of this country believes that their hate for something is justified until it affects them or someone they personally care about.

I don’t walk around carrying hate towards strangers, so I’ll just point and laugh when they get delivered the goods that they literally asked for.
