And if I'd use it to address a bunch of friends whose ancestors weren't slaves and who are not black, I think this wouldn't be an insult. If there's a black person nearby, I won't risk it having a different effect though.
Using that word in the way you describe makes you racist and a white supremacist. There are many other words you can call your "friends."

Natural consequences of being a racist and using racist terms is being hated by normal people and called out.
