It’s a distraction. The response is a distraction. They want you angry about Sydney Sweeney so their base can be angry about you being angry about Sydney Sweeney so we all forget about Epstein.

(And also so they get free publicity for their brand.)

It’s just a dumb commercial. Ignore it.

Sure they can. No doubt. But this one isn’t worth being upset about. Especially since being upset about it only benefits American Eagle. I can’t remember the last time I thought about that brand. Now it’s all over headlines. Controversy gets attention.

It also distracts the MAGA sheep from what’s important. Now they can forget about the uncomfortable cognitive dissonance re: Epstein and get back to the very comfortable “mocking leftists for overreacting.”

Just ignore it. It’s manufactured outrage.
