We are six months in, with 3.5 years to go. This will not end, so we should stop "negotiating" with a madman, and continue to work with the rest of the world.
As far as I can tell, that is a work in progress.
Meanwhile, keeping Trump at the table thinking he can talk us into doing something stupid to ourselves can hopefully buy us some time to reduce the fuckery he tries to pull against us.
