My sister is ADHD as fuck and can't get anywhere on time. i am also ADHD as fuck, but my anxiety about being late counters it and I mostly arrive on time, well actually 5 minute early everywhere

I showed up late to class once. The professor and I were cool. He was often late as well.

I got chewed out by someone because I was late and I looked like I didn't care. That was unforgivable.

People really don't get that we're already more mad at ourselves about it than any external anger will usually match :/

Yeah... I don't know if they'd care. Honestly, giving myself slack and accepting this as part of who I am right now has been such a life changer for me. The sad part, though, is it limits opportunites for which I might otherwise be a good fit.

You see, this is where childhood "trauma" helps, I have a vivid memory of being called out for arriving late to school (when i was 6-7) because I didn't live that far away and so I should easily be able to arrive on time.

So the social anxiety with being judged about being late just overpowers whatever the random shit my brain wants to do in the morning.
