Athen taz | Demonstranten bescherten am Dienstag im Hafen von Agios Nikolaos in Ostkreta den Passagieren der „Crown Iris“ einen ungemütlichen Empfang. Sie bewarfen die Busse, die die Israelis für den Landgang aus Sicherheitsgründen aus dem Hafengelände transportierten, mit wassergefüllten Plastikflaschen.
Immerhin kamen die israelischen Kreuzfahrer zu ihrem Landgang. Und dies, obgleich sich mehrere Hundert Demonstranten vor der geplanten Ankunft der „Crown Iris“ im Hafengelände von Agios Nikolaos eingefunden hatten, um gegen das militärische Vorgehen Israels im Gazastreifen zu protestieren. Dazu hatten linke Parteien, Gruppierungen und Bürgervereinigungen aus ganz Kreta aufgerufen.
Sie skandierten Parolen, warfen Israel auf Transparenten einen Völkermord in Palästina vor, es waren „Free, Free Palestine!“-Rufe zu hören. Eine riesige Palästinaflagge wurde an der Hafenmauer ausgerollt. Hör- und sichtbar sollte die unmissverständliche Botschaft an die Israelis sein: „Ihr seid hier nicht willkommen!“

Bereits früh eingetroffene Spezialeinheiten der Polizei (MAT) gingen gegen die Protestler vor. Die MAT-Kräfte setzten dabei Tränengas ein und traktierten die Demo-Teilnehmer mit Schlägen. Mehrere Personen wurden festgenommen.

Nach Angaben lokaler Medien nahmen an dem Empfang unter anderem der Bürgermeister von Rhodos, Alexandros Koliadis, sowie der Präsident des Händlerverbandes der Dodekanes-Inselgruppe (zu der die Insel Rhodos gehört), Yannis Klouvas, teil. Ein Video in den sozialen Medien zeigt singende israelische Kreuzfahrer, die in Rhodos von Bord gehen und eine große Flagge ihres Landes entrollen.
Dies war am Dienstag voriger Woche noch anders. Mehrere Hundert propalästinensische Demonstranten hatten auf der griechischen Kykladeninsel Syros erfolgreich verhindert, dass etwa 1.600 israelische Touristen von der „Crown Iris“ für einen sechsstündigen Besuch im Hafen des Hauptortes Ermoupolis aussteigen konnten.

Die Zeit hat wie zahlreiche Medien Falschinformationen verbreitet. z.T. wurden Angriffe israelischer Hooligans, die Jagd auf nichtjüdische Amsterdamer gemacht haben im Anschluss als antisemitische Überfälle verklärt. Antisemtisch war dann lediglich die Behauptung der Bild-Zeitung, es wäre ein "arabischer Mob" zu sehen.

Maccabi-Hooligans sind marodierend durch Amsterdam gezogen und haben Amsterdamer angegriffen, sowie deren Eigentum zerstört. Daraufhin hat sich schließlich Widerstand formiert. Die Behörden hätten mist Angriffen durch Maccabi Hooligans rechnen müssen, da diese ein halbes Jahr zuvor bereits in Athen Araber zusammengeschlagen haben. Z.T. mussten Amsterdamer um ihr Leben fürchten, weil die Maccabi Fans sich das Zeil gesetzt hatten, diese zu ermorden. Währenddessen blieb die Polizei überwiegend tatenlos und ging schließlich dazu über die Amsterdamer anzugreifen, die Widerstand gegen den marodierenden Mob leisteten. Die Amsterdamer Polizei berichtete im Nachgang, dass lokale Juden nicht angegriffen wurden.

Tensions rose on the evening of 6 November, when 200 Maccabi supporters walked through the city centre and taxi drivers shouted "free Palestine" when passing them.[12] There were also reports of Maccabi supporters shouting "fuck you Palestine".[8][42]
A group of Maccabi Fanatics chased two men, beating one with a belt as he tried to escape in a taxi.[12] After the police arrived, the group ran away, joining other Maccabi ultras, nearly all of whom wore black clothing instead of team colours, walking towards Rokin.[4][12] This group of around 50 Maccabi supporters gathered in front of Villa Mokum, a squat where several Palestinian flags were displayed.[3][4]
Residents of the squat barricaded themselves inside while one of the ultras ripped the flags off.[3][4] Maccabi fans reportedly kicked the doors and tried to enter the house, threatening to kill the residents.[7] Video footage showed a police car passing without stopping, leading to criticism on social media.[8] A group of supporters vandalised a nearby taxi, including hitting the window with an object and trying to force the windows and doors open, while the driver was inside.[12][4][3]
Around 200 Israelis gathered in Holland Casino; two fans arrived bloodied. After their location was shared by a security guard, dozens of taxi drivers and scooters arrived at the casino.[4][12] 15–20 Maccabi supporters were chased inside. They were escorted out by police around closing time (3am).[12]
A Maccabi supporter was also chased into the canal around 3.15am and forced to yell "Free Palestine", while people on the quay shouted Kankerjood ("cancer Jew").[12][4][3] Around the same time, two Israeli men were beaten and their phones and passports stolen by a group of men arriving by taxi near Stopera.[12][3] Amsterdam police said they had prevented other disturbances, and that by 3.30am everything in the city had quietened down.[43]
After the incidents on Wednesday night and throughout Thursday, calls for attacks on Israeli supporters were shared via Telegram, Snapchat,[11] and WhatsApp.[4] At least one chat referred to it as a "Jew hunt".[4] 7 November Before the match
City officials met at 11am to discuss whether to cancel the game due to the "aggression shown by Maccabi supporters and the reaction of the taxi drivers". They decided to let the game proceed, opening the stadium earlier to allow Israeli fans to clear the streets sooner, and asking the football clubs and taxi companies to avoid politics and maintain the peace.[19][12][4]
That afternoon, pro-Palestinian demonstrators held a demonstration at Anton de Komplein [nl], about a kilometer from the football stadium. Some protesters attempted to move closer to the stadium, despite the protest ban, while a group of Ajax hooligans attempted to approach the protesters. The police successfully prevented both groups from reaching each other.[12] The commemoration of the Kristallnacht in the city centre proceeded without disruptions.[12]
Maccabi Fanatics also convened in the city centre at 1pm, in particular around Dam Square, displaying banners for Israeli soldiers and setting off flares.[4] They chanted, among other things, "Fuck the Arabs".[8] Counterdemonstrators chanted anti-Israeli slogans.[44] Police instructed individuals displaying pro-Palestinian symbols or chanting slogans like "Free Palestine" to leave the square.[45]
At around 5pm, the Maccabi ultras moved towards the stadium, leading to fights in side streets and in Station Square.[44] On their way to the match, Israeli fans chanted "Olé olé olé, let the IDF win and fuck the Arabs",[4] and: "Why is there no school in Gaza? There are no children left there."[46] At the stadium, a group of Maccabi fans interrupted a minute of silence for the victims of the 2024 Spanish floods with anti-Palestinian chanting and whistles.[12][47][48] After the match
After the game, Maccabi supporters moved to the city centre.[44] They were allowed to leave at the same time as the Ajax supporters so that they would blend in.[12] A large group of supporters were escorted to the metro by police without major incident,[12] although the Israeli fans were filmed singing anti-Arab songs.[49]
At Amsterdam Central Station and other parts of the city centre with fewer police, smaller groups of Maccabi supporters were ambushed.[12] Halsema said the attacks included "hit-and-run" assaults by "boys on scooters".[50] Footage showed fans being beaten and chased with knives. Eyewitnesses reported attempted stabbings, individuals being thrown into a canal, and attackers beating and spitting on Israelis.[51] One man was kicked repeatedly while apparently unconscious in the street.[52]
Footage showed a group of men being chased down a street in the city centre and being struck by someone out of shot; one man on the ground repeatedly shouted: "I'm not Jewish!"[49] Dutch police attempted to protect Israeli fans and organised buses to take them to their hotels.[53]
Around Damrak, Maccabi ultras armed themselves with wooden boards and pipes from a construction site, before being filmed chasing a group of men and beating one.[12][54] After midnight, chanting Maccabi supporters kicked the front door of a woman with a pro-Palestinian poster in her window.[44][7]
Dutch authorities said that attackers made a distinction between Jewish Amsterdammers and visiting fans, saying there was no sign of attacks on the former, and no sign of attacks on Jewish synagogues.[55] Most of the people involved in the attacks on Maccabi fans were taxi drivers and youths on scooters, who believed there were ex-IDF soldiers and Mossad agents among the Maccabi fans.[55][12][4]
Israelische Medien berichteten im Vorfeld selbst, dass sich Mossad Agenten unter die Hooligans mischen werden. Damit sind wir wieder beim Thema dass Israel gezielt Eskalationen im Ausland provoziert, um einerseits die Opferrolle weiterzuspinnen und andererseits Jüdinenn und Juden außerhalb Israels unsicher zu machen. Israel setzt darauf, dass Jüdinenn und Juden außerhalb Israels sich unsicher fühlen, um sich selbst als "Beschützer" zu inszenieren.
