National Guard peeps who actually give a shit about your country: fill that peperwork with as many clerical errors as you possibly can. Best case, you give a legal defense team ammo to have a case dismissed. Worst case, you get chewed out. You been chewed out before...

National Guard peeps who ACTUALLY give a shit about your country: you know exactly what to do

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 16 points 1 day ago (1 children)

simpler to just write down the wrong name of the person, or make a name up.

[–] idiomaddict@lemmy.world 15 points 1 day ago (1 children)

That’s a great way to make sure nobody can find their family members. They should fuck up everything but the names

You could keep hidden accurate records that you share with the revolution once the persons are out of danger.

This one says "Show to ICE"

And what's the other one say?

"NEVER show to ICE"

[–] NuXCOM_90Percent@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Yeah! Help disappear those folk. The ACLU can rescue them one at a time. Your hands will be clean!

Fuck that shit. This is like saying "hey, make sure you have part of your shirt untucked while you herd people from the train to the concentration camp. That'll show them!"

[–] Sterile_Technique@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Any act of resistance is worth encouraging.

Discreetly fucking up records is a start.

[–] NuXCOM_90Percent@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

No, it fucking isn't.

"Ha ha ha, they are gonna feel so awkward when they go to check the logs of all the brown people they gassed and think they executed ten people from North Carolina when it was REALLY South Carolina"

[–] Sterile_Technique@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

"Ha ha ha"? "awkward"? You're missing the point. Falsifications on documents can have legal utility. That could be the difference between someone getting checked into a fucking concentration camp vs walking free. Even if it's audited and flagged for correction, that's still gumming up the system.

Would larger acts of resistance be better? Fuck yeah. The Oath of Enlistment (and similar oaths like commissioned officer, federal employee, etc) literally compels those who took it to engage Trump the way they do any other enemy of the US / threat to the constitution. But have they? No. They appear to have the same lack of spine as the rest of us, you and I included. But are there smaller steps of resistance that can be taken by that group? Yes. You and I included. Whatever it is you're able to do to hinder the Nazi infestation plaguing our country, fucking do it. If it seems small and insignificant, do it anyway. It's better than nothing, and that shit adds up.

Oh snap! Some of those people getting sent to fucking die in the desert might have a legal claim to getting released?!?!?! you know, assuming the trump admin ever even bothers to look for their body.

That could be the difference between someone getting checked into a fucking concentration camp vs walking free.

Look... I love a "Germans love their paperwork" joke as much as anybody. NOBODY was ever turned away from a concentration camp after they were put on the train because it wasn't clear if their name was Goldstein or Holdstein. Just like the republicans won't care if it is Joe Gonzalez from Hollywood California or Joe Gonzales from Hollywood Florida.

Fuck yeah. The Oath of Enlistment (and similar oaths like commissioned officer, federal employee, etc) literally compels those who took it to engage Trump the way they do any other enemy of the US / threat to the constitution. But have they? No.

Then they are fucking complicit. But hey, at the Seattle Trials I am sure a bunch of them will be glad to say "I was just following orders".

But are there smaller steps of resistance that can be taken by that group?

And "Tee hee hee. mess up the paperwork but not too much" ain't fucking it. And pretending it is is just refusing to acknowledge the reality of what is going on AND giving the "just following orders" jackasses any cover at all.

If it seems small and insignificant, do it anyway. It’s better than nothing, and that shit adds up.

No. Messing up the paperwork of people being sent to an oubliette to die does not "add up". If anything, it contributes to the actual goal.

[–] Sterile_Technique@lemmy.world -1 points 22 hours ago

I guess you're right.

Nevermind, National Guard peeps. Just do that paperwork as ordered. We got trains to fill!

Oskar Schindler: Stern, if this factory ever produces a shell that can actually be fired, I'll be very unhappy.

It is important that even if you stay on in order to sabotage, that you still do not commit any morally bad acts. NONE of your paperwork should ever pass muster.

[–] NuXCOM_90Percent@lemmy.zip 0 points 1 day ago

There is a BIG difference between dud artillery shells and not crossing your t's on paperwork that the nazis don't even fucking care about because they are imprisoning and killing people.
