That plus probably being exposed to covid. Apparently it has really bad effects on the brain and ability to learn.
Don’t forget that we also don’t give kids enough breaks to let their brains actually process what they just learned and be able to put it all away. Your brain isn’t meant to just absorb 8 hours of information with just a lunch break and a few minutes of passing time. That isn’t enough, you need several long breaks so your brain can actually absorb what you are learning. Otherwise it just all gets lost since it effectively becomes white noise.
Oh also don’t forget that schools were designed to create obedient factory workers who don’t question orders. That surely has no impact on students ability to actually do work. You don’t need creative thinking at all, just shove everything into as few boxes as possible.
