I know. I'm heaping scorn on you for your misplaced bolshevik schtick.
This is more about your perceptual limitations. The takeaway is that more people saw it than typically for superman movies as of late. As in, they're finally are doing the thing right after many substandard attempts.
Box office revenue is the measurement of how many tickets were sold, and therefore how many people have seen the movie. That is the evidence that was used to back up the idea that this Superman movie is doing well compared to the previous movies.
By the way, are you able to explain how you reached the conclusion that me knowing how much money a movie makes is a factor of my enjoyment of movies? This of course will have to come out of your head, as I've said nothing of the sort.
Your righteous indignation has been noted, mocked, and dismissed.
Simply put, the fact that people really like the new Superman movie (ask me how I know) just makes you angry.
I’m well aware of how sales numbers work and going out of your way to explain that as if it wasn’t obvious is fucking sad and pedantic.
Go on keep slurping those capitalist boots and oohhh and ahhhh at the big number go up for the owning class while you enjoy the bread and circuses of pumped out remakes and sequels. 🤮
Capitalist bootlickers get blocked.
No, what's sad is jumping in on the Movies community, seeing a standard story that is on topic, and taking a big old tangential Marxist shit.
To be clear, if you came in with any other socio-political perspective, with the same piss-poor attitude, I would be taking the piss out of you in an identical fashion.
It is you personally and specifically, that is the problem.
Blah blah blah capitalist blah blah means of production blah blah blah proletariat blah blah blah while you enjoy the bread and circuses of pumped out remakes and sequels.
You should have just stuck with criticizing audiences for accepting rehashes of the same stuff. That would be still poo-pooing the story, but at least pertains to movie making and movie watching.
Can you identify any tangible loss on my part if you were to block me? Would I notice if you hadn't announced this?
Who is that line for?
... If Superman had been produced by an artist co-op we'd still be talking about ticket sales as a measure of success and popularity
