Overview:

The community dedicated to boycotting the US until they stop fascism, restore full democracy and start following international law.

Americans have a moral obligation to resist Donald Trump and project 2025 at every turn.

America is a flawed democracy currently being ruled by oligarchs. Stop the backslide! Dont let America become the next Hungary.

America needs to challenge the court rulings of citizens united v. fec and shelby county v. holder, protect the media, implement independent district drawing, and the single transferable vote so they don't end up having people stay home in life-changing elections because they cannot vote for their favourite candidate.

So I have a Reddit account still because I frequently come across posts that I want to say stuff in, and my local community c/Saskatchewan has not really embraced the boycott US as much as I wish it had but today I was talking with my grandmother when a notification popped up on my screen saying Reddit wanted my eyes on their ads, it was actually someone replying to a comment but what is the difference? I thought about it and decided that it was time for me to turn off Reddit notifications, and man did it feel good doing it!

I've been working on some technical things the past month or so, and inevitably Reddit posts have shown up in my search results from time to time. One thing leads to another and I end up checking out the front pages (ex: popular and all) from time to time.

What I noticed now compared to when I "left" is that there are way more India-centric subs making it into the top results. Dehli, India Teens, Bollywood memes, and so on. So, I'm guessing that region is the next big push for growth.

Yes I have as well been trying to get my technical thingy on and have come across Reddit posts as well. I however refuse to look at the “front page,” because I know it will get me into reading something which will turn into doom scrolling which will lead me into signing back on to see what is up locally.

I am a recovering addict of some rather powerful pain meds so I no longer take anything synthetically or genetically related to that drug let it be over the counter or script based, which makes things a little difficult for me when talking to a doctor about pain management but that is besides the point.

What I did for my Reddit addiction was wean myself off; First I removed myself from all but the local groups but I told the groups why I was leaving and where I was going, some of the US people are just idiots in the more active international groups not realizing how screwed they really are. Then after a while I logged off and uninstalled the app from my phone and iPad and Vivaldi (the web browser I am currently using). I still have the account just incase something happens and I need the power given to me by the amount of time I have been a member but that thing will have to be something major, even more major then Canadian airports being simultaneously being shut down do to bomb threats.
