I hope this is the right place to post this!

I'm leaving Canada permanently next weekend, with a PGWP status which ends next year. I'm all done with tax returns, and I'm about to close my bank account.

My question is if I have to do anything else regarding CRA. Like report something or update? I did a search, but in the gov site mentions Canadian residents only.

TIA

By my cursory research: For CRA, https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/tax/international-non-residents/individuals-leaving-entering-canada-non-residents/deemed-residents.html#183 if you were here for 183 days (e.g. from Jan 1 to Jul 3rd), and if you are a resident of another country without a tax treaty with Canada, then for 2025 you will be considered a Canadian tax resident for a return to be filed in 2026.

Found some other info here: https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/tax/international-non-residents/individuals-leaving-entering-canada-non-residents/leaving-canada-emigrants.html

Other note: Any provincial agencies you may have registered with, it would be a good idea to let them know you are moving away.
