Ok, but there's a whole bit in The Order of the Phoenix where Harry tried to cast Crucio on Bellatrix, but it fails, and she says something along the lines of "you have to really mean it, you have to really want to hurt the person", so I doubt you could accidentally cast Avada Kedavra on your closest friend
