Answer phone, immediately hit mute, put phone down until they hang up.
I used to do this just to waste their time. If they spend ten seconds trying to talk to a human on the other end of the line, that;s ten seconds they are not annoying someone else. Then I noticed that I was getting a lot fewer spam calls than my wife. I am beginning to think that the auto-dialers are thinking that my number is being machine answered or something like that and they flag it in their system as a number not worth calling.
This is not a good idea.
Spam calls are, by and large, automated. When the number does not answer several times in a row, the number is often auto deleted from the list so as to get more scams done.
When you answer, it confirms for the automated program making the calls that your number is still in service and is answered.
Odd. My wife and daughter never answer them and they get them every day. I get one maybe every couple weeks.
I already have you tagged as "incorrecting me" from an earlier exchange where you did the same thing here...

Just accept that sometimes people have ideas that are different from yours that hold value? It doesn't add value to the discussion to just give anecdotal evidence while you refuse other people's ideas.
neither of you provided evidence.
and what the hell is "incorrecting" somebody??
Not taking sides in the argument above but "incorrecting" is where you try to correct what someone says but provide incorrect information when doing so.
I mean, that was so obvious from the word itself. The guy you replied to isnt very good at interpreting new words.
I used to do this, but I stop answer. Now I just wait to they hang up (I silence the phone using the lower volume button) and next I do block the number. If you answer or hang up, they'll continue calling you.
