A small aircraft crashed into Lake Lucerne near Kehrsiten NW on the morning of Monday, July 28. Both occupants — a 78-year-old Austrian pilot and a 55-year-old Swiss woman — were rescued alive. The pilot was uninjured, while the passenger was taken to hospital with injuries.

I deleted the return to Buochs flight plan from our ATC systems yesterday around 12utc, knowing that it probably won’t be able to fly again but we didn’t know that the aircraft just sinked in the lake at that time.

It’s nice to have survivors during the "crash season" (summer with plenty of single piston and sailplanes).
