Michaela really seems to adore Toph and playing her. She is really active in fan spaces and online, even cosplaying her character. Dante too seems to love being involved in the Avatarverse. I'm sure both would love to do it, and are a bit dissappointed. But they're certainly not replaced in the hearts of the fans. They've lost nothing by it.

And for those upset by the choice to recast for this, remember Legend of Korra already exists. Though both voice acted their characters' descendants in Korra, neither reprise their roles despite both Zuko and Toph having lines in the show. And that was under the original production team too, and no one else. It will be OK, I promise.
