Sometimes I wonder what the gender field is even for anymore. In this case, it's clearly there just so you can select that option.

As an aside, a website I used to use decades ago had a relatively harmless vulnerability in its "sex" field in the profile editor, allowing you to submit any value you want, and the website would render what you submitted. The field was also specifically called "sex", not "gender". You can imagine what values people put there.

reminds me of a time a friend of mine couldn't sign up for a music site without selecting male/female and I fixed it using a similar vulnerability
