there was 19 battles of the Isonzo River.. just think about that alone.. you figure by the tenth time it was pointless..

due to how many shells every dropped and how poorly they were built there last person to die because of WWI shelling was in the 1950s , a French farmer plowed a un-exploded WWI shell
and finally in France until this year they are still digging up unexplored ordinance, they even have a name for it “The Iron Harvest”

The great war series on ww1 was so brutal i had to stop listening half way through. There's only so many times you can. Hear about 10s of thousands of young men being shipped off to charge machine gun lines before you have to tune out
