Ask Lemmy
A Fediverse community for open-ended, thought provoking questions
Rules: (interactive)
1) Be nice and; have fun
Doxxing, trolling, sealioning, racism, and toxicity are not welcomed in AskLemmy. Remember what your mother said: if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. In addition, the site-wide Lemmy.world terms of service also apply here. Please familiarize yourself with them
2) All posts must end with a '?'
This is sort of like Jeopardy. Please phrase all post titles in the form of a proper question ending with ?
3) No spam
Please do not flood the community with nonsense. Actual suspected spammers will be banned on site. No astroturfing.
4) NSFW is okay, within reason
Just remember to tag posts with either a content warning or a [NSFW] tag. Overtly sexual posts are not allowed, please direct them to either !asklemmyafterdark@lemmy.world or !asklemmynsfw@lemmynsfw.com.
NSFW comments should be restricted to posts tagged [NSFW].
5) This is not a support community.
It is not a place for 'how do I?', type questions.
If you have any questions regarding the site itself or would like to report a community, please direct them to Lemmy.world Support or email info@lemmy.world. For other questions check our partnered communities list, or use the search function.
6) No US Politics.
Please don't post about current US Politics. If you need to do this, try !politicaldiscussion@lemmy.world or !askusa@discuss.online
Reminder: The terms of service apply here too.

How about you repay some of the privilege given to you by both regimes theft of less worthy people's resources and actually contribue to changing your homes for the better.
People used to be refugees from persecution, not from responsibility.
Anyway, you might be welcome in Hungary and probably India. Perth in Australia would work but you'd have to be white-passing to fit in with all the white South African post-apartheid refugees.
It sounds like you have a teaching degree which is a very country-specific qualification that is almost useless in other countries beyond maybe teaching English to American-occupied countries like Korea and Thailand.
Do you have any other skills with which to apply from abroad or do you expect to show up to a country and just be handed a visa and job? Which European countries did your grandparents colonise Palestine from? If you can get passports for those, you will at least have a right to be there.
My goodness, you seem unwell.
Sorry that you're apparently just now learning that your country's whites-only immigration policies in living memory made it the most desired destination for the perpetrators of apartheid. Feel free to stop cosplaying a brit and just swear at me like an actual Australian though.
You certainly seem to assume the worst of everyone.
I mean, she's leaving, which would deprive them of her taxes, it's the most she can do.
My parents don't come from any European country, lol. I'm a Mizrahi Jew.
Well, that's a real pity. Can't see many of those countries welcoming you 'back' for some reason.
Yeah my grandparents are from Yemen, not exactly a place I could go to
