South Park has, from what I understand, an incredibly compressed production schedule, something like a week to produce an episode, which is how they manage to release episodes about something that only just happened.

reminds me of snl workflow, the final product may be rough on the edges, but that's part of the charm

From what I've heard this is partly on purpose to avoid people being able to fully review everything at length before it airs.
