A nice place to discuss rumors, happenings, innovations, and challenges in the technology sphere. We also welcome discussions on the intersections of technology and society. If it’s technological news or discussion of technology, it probably belongs here.

Remember the overriding ethos on Beehaw: Be(e) Nice. Each user you encounter here is a person, and should be treated with kindness (even if they’re wrong, or use a Linux distro you don’t like). Personal attacks will not be tolerated.

After two decades of sharing more online, it looks like we've decided to share less. New polling shows that nearly a third of all social media users post less than they did a year ago. That trend is especially true for adults in Gen Z.

I basically forced my wife to install FB Purity (a content sanitizing extension for Facebook) because most of what she was seeing on her feed were ads or pages she doesn't even follow.

I left Facebook years ago because I would rather be a person than a performer and I only really have like 10 close friends. Most know my phone number and email address, otherwise they can message me at the LinkedIn profile I monitor but don't use.
