This sort of thing is indicative of the declining respect for law around the world.
Piracy and VPN circumventing streaming subscriptions, the relaxation and lack of enforcement of drug laws, and even the deregulation of the finance industry all show that people don’t respect governments.
And I love it.
Because the law doesn't respect the people - only those with money & power. Why should any average person respect laws with such inconsistent application and enforcement? Fuck the power!
And it’s full of bullshit reasons for things. Some dickhole forty years ago buys the rights to a show in my country, does nothing with them, and suddenly I can’t watch it without trivially breaking the law.
