That's the only thing I'd be concerned about... well, and the plastic consumed in the process. My cat would absolutely stick her paw in there and get it stuck.

This is effectively a monkey/raccoon trap, like I've read about, where they reach in and can't pull their paws back out.

Self-made toy. I didn't mean to be critical, or imply irresponsible behavior.

We went on vacation once and left everything out on the counter for the pet sitter, including Friskies we give as treats. One of our cats methodically pushed the bag off the counter and it exploded on the floor; for nearly 12 hours (we had the web cam on), that's all they ate. It happens!
