It is a wooden puzzle with some 3d printed parts inside and no models for making your own.

That is correct. I think he typically releases the 3-D models after a few months. I know he has other 3-D Models on his website. This one I think will be later

Yeah thats pretty common with puzzle designers - they sell the physical product first to recoup design costs before releasing the STLs for the community.
