This song has some neat 3D effects so I thought I'd bring it up.

5.1 isn't really that good. Its nice to have a virtual surround sink set up on my system so that TV shows and movies don't sound like crap though.

A lot of my listening is through a soundbar/subwoofer setup. It does all kinds of surround emulation that really boosts some music and does nothing for other stuff. It's fun to play with but not enough to setup satellite speakers and all that. There's a big difference when listening to high bit rate and Atmos music though. So much more detail comes through it's hard to go back once you get used to it.

Do you consider yourself an audiophile or audio geek? If so, do people call you a fake one?

You don't seem to have too much of a "HiFi" setup as they would say. But personally I don't think its necessary to have as an audiophile.

No not really, I just enjoy music.

I don't really get caught up in what other people think or how they might label me. I try to find ways to enjoy life that work for me. I would hope others do the same. There are lots of ways to enjoy music that don't involve a studio setup, but I can understand the appeal and I really appreciate the nuances that high end setups can offer.

I do think there's a "floor" for quality, but everyone's is different. I tend to find CD quality the minimum level before I start finding it offensive these days.

That's about what I think too.
