It's not underrated? You can't get more popular then bible and David vs. Goliath story. It's just slow and not all that usable for armies?

Does it? I mean slings weren't cool even in the roman times for being pretty useless, no? Video shows a guy that chucks stones at a helmet from 3-5 meters, not sure how representative this experiment is.
