I sometimes wonder if the US media is entirely staffed by the mentally handicapped. If you found one Canadian in a hundred that said this was about the tariffs and not Trump's stupid comments, I'd be surprised. How the hell do they get this so wrong?

I had a family member who genuinely thought Canada was boycotting USA products because of the tariffs and I had to explain to a fully-grown, college-educated adult with MULTIPLE degrees and liberal political views that it wasn't the tariffs but rather the literal threat to Canada's sovereignty that got USA on the boycott list. Talk about infuriating.

For me it was both. The tariffs were when it stopped being just rhetoric. I started my boycott as soon as Trump implemented tariffs at the beginning of February (or almost implemented, because he mostly chickened out, if I remember correctly).

And he's given me plenty of other reasons to continue my boycott since then.
