A modern car can have over a hundred different ECUs (electronic control units), all a little computer in itself, controlling the engine, brakes, seat heating and entertainment system etc.
If anything, you are working with MORE tech than a regular IT guy.

Mostly I wanted to emphasize that we aren't all borderline literal children here, but yes, the average age is probably higher.
