I figured it was over 30...

[–] Coelacanth@feddit.nu 89 points 2 weeks ago (8 children)

I'm pretty sure the average Fediverse user is a 37-year-old male working in tech or IT.

[–] IndiBrony@lemmy.world 43 points 2 weeks ago (3 children)

37-year-old

36

male

Last time I checked

working

Yep

Ah, driving instructor. Cars are tech, though, right?

Close enough!

A modern car can have over a hundred different ECUs (electronic control units), all a little computer in itself, controlling the engine, brakes, seat heating and entertainment system etc.

If anything, you are working with MORE tech than a regular IT guy.

[–] ICastFist@programming.dev 5 points 1 week ago

Cars have enough tech bullshit built-in nowadays that it might as well count

[–] AbsolutelyNotAVelociraptor@sh.itjust.works 17 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Why yes! This ~~human~~ user here is absolutely right! There is nothing but human males here!

[–] Coelacanth@feddit.nu 5 points 2 weeks ago

Is that you Blue? Who let you on the internet? Goddamn it Owen!

[–] protist@mander.xyz 12 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

There are a lot of us non-techies here, but you sure outnumber us

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 7 points 2 weeks ago

I love you non techies. And am happy you are on Lemmy. A lot of you are probably techie but you just don’t do it for a job.

Today I have read comments from a driving instructor and a high school teacher.

[–] toynbee@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago

... Leave me alone.

[–] 9point6@lemmy.world 6 points 2 weeks ago

Oh nice, I'm bringing the average down

.............just

[–] Olap@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago

Oh man, I'm so seen

[–] countrypunk@slrpnk.net 2 points 1 week ago

Darn...I fit all of those except the 37 year old part.

[–] PugJesus@lemmy.world 12 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Mostly I wanted to emphasize that we aren't all borderline literal children here, but yes, the average age is probably higher.

[–] Semi_Hemi_Demigod@lemmy.world 22 points 2 weeks ago (3 children)

I’m over forty and act like a child constantly

[–] TachyonTele@piefed.social 7 points 2 weeks ago

You and me both, brother

[–] ZeffSyde@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

Shut up, doodie head.

[–] Trainguyrom@reddthat.com 3 points 1 week ago

I thought I was immature, then I spent some time with some 18 year olds. I'm just a different kind of mature I guess...

[–] zammy95@lemmy.world 11 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I JUST turned 30 last month, does that count?
