I'll keep that expectation safely stored beside my hoverboard in the trunk of my flying car.
Many things could grow exponentially if not for the reasons they didn't.
"Experts", i.e., a video based on a scenario posited by three AI researchers, a college student, and a blogger. The scenario has been heavily criticized by experts for containing unsupported claims. My education is microbiology, not computer science, and even I can see the massive holes in their narrative.
The secondary sources for that video are all news articles.
I wouldn't exactly call that a scientific consensus or even particularly convincing.
