There are "light jokes" I do not appreciate either, but it does not affect my day to day in a negative way for more than a few minutes. All they did was opt out of the game and mention their feelings on this once. I am not too happy about them being called "not normal or healthy" right now but I'll probably forget this conversation in a few minutes after I type it.
I think people on the internet take any disapproval or dislike of a joke as "omg so triggered!!!" and think someone will be upset for daysโฆ and I get it, because it's not really fun to have someone point out problems and seem to be "ruining the fun." But "wow, offended much???" is a really easy way to just dismiss others' points. I hope you are coming from a genuine place of care and not from "omg so triggered!!!" I was just explaining their view and I feel defensive of them for people having this assessment of them online. Then again, all I'm presenting is their viewpoint on this VN, and not all the other ways they live their life as a normally functioning person who just happened to get upset about something you did not. (And yes, I know you never used any of these words and I am using much harsher words that get used to express "wow too sensitive" that you did not use at all.)
Really wasn't expecting the "too sensitive" argument on Lemmy.
