Unfortunately people seem to take any sort of criticism hard these days. Even light joking or in-joking. Which is a bit sad. My friend group made merciless fun of each other and almost all of us are still friends.
I think it depends on personal temperament. Someone can be sensitive and still not a bad person, but according to the internet being not fun in that manner makes you a bad person⦠just because your friend group enjoyed that (and more power to you!) does not mean everyone will, and I do not think it is such a horrible thing that not every group is okay with making fun of each other. Most people probably have preferences or sensitivities or things that bother them that other people would go "lol so weird" or "toughen up lmao" or "so oversensitive" to you about. I figure it is only decent to respect others' sensitivities instead of criticizing them on them if I don't want people to turn around and insult me on mine. Live and let live.
I'm defending this take specifically because I am trusting their take since they play VNs way more than me and are probably a lot more familiar with that community. And according to them VN parody games are made less as a loving tongue-in-cheek thing and more as "LMAO you pathetic nerds" thing and after it being repeated it's kind of tiring to be the butt of the joke all the time.
