Random problem I'm having: The Firefox UI randomly freezes until I restart it. I can use a particular tab fine but I can't close it, click buttons in the UI, etc. It seems the process running the main UI is freezing.
It's been happening for ages, running under Gnome on Nobara (and I saw the same thing under Bazzite as well).
I'll eventually go ask in a tech support community but I thought I'd ask here just in case someone knows what's up :)
@Dave , my guess was cache related, though being the same under other circumstances I'd check the hardware related stuff -
hw acceleration and drivers.
https://www.drivereasy.com/knowledge/fix-firefox-freezing-issue/
Hardware acceleration is off, I've cleared all browser data, running the latest version, system is up to date so should have latest drivers, deleted the favicon/places databases.
The only suggestion left on that link is an add on. I've now disabled everything exect uBlock and bitwarden, let's see if that helps. Not holding my breath though!
(I disabled all addons except uBlock, and the UI still froze. 🤷 🤦 😭 )
@Dave , darn that is weird. Uninstall, reinstall?
Waterfox? (running out of ideas).
(pi-hole instead of ublock)
When you stop hardware acceleration you have to quit the browser and open it again for it to be effective. Also:

I am regularly closing and opening the browser 😅. I also am sure hardware acceleration was disabled, it was immediately obvious when sites with animated transitions slowed to a crawl.
I might try creating a fresh profile, that should hopefully avoid the risk of previously saved settings being reloaded even after a reinstall.
Waterfox is a good idea too haha. I should try it for a while and see if it has the same issue.
Cheers, I have disabled the hardware acceleration, and now I'll see if that fixes it!
