I didn't realize that it'd happen so fast but dubvee is now gone.
So as the most active poster of that community I am making a executive decision to move it to my instance, I feel if I don't it now it'll be gone forever. My instance has the posts already and being piefed it can take the content over. That's the main reason why I'm afraid of moving it to a Lemmy instance. My hope is that PieFed soonish will be able to move Communities between PieFed instances.
But right now everyone will need to refollow, let's see how it goes. Here is the link: !dundermifflin@piefed.jeena.net
I'm glad it moves to a Piefed instance. Thanks.
Well done, thank you !
Can you also migrate !30rock@dubvee.org there as well?
The only problem is that I didn't follow it so my instance has no history of that community. I just checked and piefed.social has a long history of it: https://piefed.social/c/30rock@dubvee.org so I think it'd be better to move it there. For that there is a link in the sidebar Move community to piefed.social.
Once you click it then theoretically you should put in the URL of the post where it's announced in the old community that the community is moving. But because this is not possible it's probably best to put in the URL of this thread as the background.
Once the admin allows it then someone needs to become the moderator, I think that then probably should be you @satyrsack@lemmy.sdf.org I don't think it makes sense for me who was never involved in that community to be the moderator. Later you could try to find a co-moderator if it would be too much for you.
Good Luck!
