Has porting anime to live action ever resulted in something good? I don't understand taking stories that depend on outlandish expressive animation and going "let's make this more realistic". Makes as much sense to me as trying to release a concerto as a flipbook.
One Piece did well enough?
For now. That's going to get a lot harder the further into the story you get.
