Ignoring the satire for a second, vacationing can help people get over trauma. It's not a bad idea. But it's also not really grieving in the traditional sense. And obviously, a politician would have different rules.

Yeah, but if they have no power at home, or shits flooded, old Ted's gotta grieve about it someplace his constituents can't find him.
