I can't be the only one, can I, that feels kind of ill, like I've got a mild cold or something, immediately after a nap, that doesn't go away until I've got moving around and had something to drink? Doesn't usually happen after a proper nights sleep, but if I'm tired in the middle of the day and let myself fall asleep, I always end up regretting it upon waking unrelated to how long it took.

it is (probably) related to how long it took, you're probably waking up mid-sleep cycle, when you do your brain has to wake itself up from deep sleep and that takes a while. best naps are either shorter than 30min (so you don't leave light sleep stage) or around 90min (so you get a full sleep cycle in). when you wake up at the beginning or the end of a sleep cycle you feel refreshed and good- but when you wake up in the middle... "what? what time us it? who am i?"

And they could just straight-up be dehydrated since most people are slightly dehydrated, anyway.

I got that when I was a teenager. It caused me to not take naps unless I was exhausted and could spare like 2 hours.

In my 30s though and boy can I knock out a nap.

No, I quite often end up feeling groggy after a nap as well.
