Logseq is a free and open source, offline-first note taking application aka Personal knowledge management system (PKMS). One of the few with editable transclusion support out of the box, it aims to help you build a second brain, build good journaling habits, and/or just shoot off quick ideas before they disappear back into the ether.

Very on par feature wise with Roam Research, if not more robust.

I’ve been using LogSeq continuously for around a year and a half and I’ve recently come across a new use case I’m looking to implement. I’ve currently got a few ideas on how I might do it but hoping to hear if anyone has done this before or if anyone has any suggestions.

Essentially, I’m looking for some way of tagging a full month such as [[April 2025]] and having that show up on each page, maybe even month ranges such as [[April 2025]] - [[August 2025]].

The use case I came across was a show that was on during the spring and summer seasons that I’m looking to book, but I want to maintain visibility of it so I’m less likely to forget about it and miss it.

One implementation I’m considering is having a month page which tags each journal page within that month using some sort of query based off of the dates e.g. [[2025-04-*]] but fear this may create clutter.

Another idea I’ve had is to setup a default journal template that has some sort of TODO query built in that would only show things tagged for the current month until they’re DONE.

If anyone has any suggestions or questions that might help me refine the idea, please let me know!

I don't know the proper name but how about using tag hierarchy?

group1/file1.md

#2025/05/01

group1/file2.md

#2025/05/10

That way, if you open virtual file (it does not exist on drive) 2025/05 you see both files in references

To mark thing as done, change the tag to DONE/2025/05/01
