My wife had me put up a long laundry line. We only used it for a month, because it's a pain.
What I've found, when she allows me to do the laundry, is that most of our clothes don't need dried in the first place. Toss the comforter over a door and let it sit overnight. That's a load all by itself. And FFS, I can't get her to stop drying her bras or my hats. "You're destroying your own clothes!" Shoes? Nope. Not ever.
Grandma did this with nice shirts. Then she'd hang and button every other button. Done. Perfectly straight dress shirts, no ironing.
And before anyone talks at me about humidity, we live in Florida.
Have you used those wire collapsible drying racks? I used one before we had kids. It was much more convenient than a laundry line - it's all in one place, it's inside, and it folds up when not in use.
Found a wooden one in the trash last week! For now it's at the top of my driveway, right outside the door. Using it everyday for wet clothes from being out on the water, stuff getting rained on, etc. It's great!
That's awesome!
