History Ruins

What is a ruin? We’re running off of “You know it when you see it” at the moment. Ruins should be non-functioning structures of some age, or their function reduced to tourism and the like.

This is very much a case where the budding since of archeology learned a lot from someone very famously doing exactly the wrong thing.

I mean I do agree with your general discontent with his practices, however I think you're a bit too mad at him, all things considered.

There's many more people to be a mad at. Schliemann himself is already academically berated and scorned. I do appreciate the ironic nature of defacing his last resting place, however I would agree with another poster that cases can be made for many who would be more deserving.
