Taxis? You know, the regulated alternative that's not in the process of doing a bait and switch by selling services at a loss until competition dies and then increase the prices.

The problem with traditional taxis is that after booking them, you have no indication of when they will show up and along the way, you mostly have no information about the cost. Same thing if you get a taxi on the street without pre booking. You have no idea of the resulting price.

You ask them to show up at a particular time and then they just do. And you can ask about the cost when you contact them.

Iโ€™m guessing this varies between countries. The thing is where I live, they donโ€™t always show up in time and if they show up, you have to pay anyway
