The BOP has never had a formerly incarcerated inmate work as an employee at any level, according to a senior bureau official.

This is actually wild. I'm sure this guy is not someone to pick to break that streak, but you'd think they'd hire at least some people that have experienced the system.

Edit: after reading the article I don't see any major red flags about the guy. Might actually be a decent hire for once.

Who better to run a humanitarian prison system than someone who lived in prison. He may not be the right guy but his prison experience helps his odds I think.
