Which one was it? Brought a fig into the senate, pointed out it was ripe and just like that fig Carthage could be in Rome in 3 days

Cato the Elder, who did the demonstration as part of a bizarre and enduring campaign to ensure Carthage would be destroyed in which he applied every conceivable argument on the subject.

Eventually, it was a legal (if technical) violation of their last peace treaty which moved Rome to declare the third and final Punic War.
