Not many people know but Ukraine is not very interested in peace either. Their demands are almost as unrealistic as Russia's.
Demands such as adhere to international law? How dare they!
Don't forget the demand to leave their country. That's just a bridge too far for putin.
How do you conclude from unrealistic demands to no interest in peace?
What do you think the prospects of short and long-term peace are? What would you be willing to sacrifice for temporary "peace"?

Not exactly no interest but not enough interest. I believe the main reason of the war is Russia not being particularly happy with Ukraine's decision to join NATO. I'd say it's impossible to end the war without Ukraine giving up on that.
Also Ukrainian officials exhibit severe discrimination and disrespect against Russian people which is not helping the situation imo.
I'm well aware of the risk of another conflict. It's Russia we're dealing with here after all. However I don't think it's really possible to eliminate it completely. That is the part professionals should think about. My unprofessional suggestion would be letting Ukraine have WMDs.
