Well, nothing causes more construction and interruption than fucking car infrastructure!

Bikes = foot traffic. Foot traffic = more people spending money in local businesses.

Most businesses who complain before bike lanes are built end up fighting to keep bike lanes when the threat of removing them comes up.

Once it's done though, bike lanes essentially never need to be repaved because the wear and tear is so low.

Businesses should understand that the infrastructure will bring them a considerable bump in customers. Businesses that are around good bike infrastructure tend to do well.
