So, a few of my friends and I (Americans) all use a UK spellings for a few words (not all the same ones each), and we've all determined that it must have something to do with interacting with Brits regularly on the Internet during the same years that we were learning to spell.

Is this a thing that any of you do or anyone you know?

I'm from the USA, yet I prefer to spell gray as grey, and sometimes, depending on programming context, color as colour.
