Somewhat related: I just gave up on keeping a clean credit score. I realized now at 35 that I’m never going to own a house in my crazy expensive city, and I’m never going to buy a brand new car so what’s the use of having a great score?
I still pay off all my debt but I don’t give a fuck if I miss a payment when the greedy fucks are charging high interest anyway.
at some point, I realized I don't ever want to be their idea of a perfect person to loan money to (read: perfect person to drown in debt and make as much money as possible from), and I wear that "unworthiness" as a badge of honor
I tried keeping a lower credit score by making deals with demons and acquiring credit cards. The reason is I've heard having a higher score improves interest and mortgage rates for buying a home. Problem is, my bank tells me I have very strict requirements.
In my area at least, my credit only "can" improve my score if my cumulative limit exceeds £15,001, and if I consistently use between 1% and 50% of said limit, constantly being indebted by £150-£7,500. I will never have £15,000 in credit availability, and the improvement is not a promise.
Secondly, I heard being registered to vote helps. I'm a nihilist and reject my government's only successful parties, but because of this, I registered and just 'vote' for whomever my partner votes for. Until I learned the catch; that I must being registered at the same address for more than 6 and a half years. So it was for nothing.. Moving address resets the value.
Thirdly, I must be loyal to, and keep at least one bank account in the black with, my bank for over 6 years, BUT not open any new accounts for at least 6 months
Thus, I accepted that anything credit score is all bullshit and not even feasible.
