Sounds like they just grabbed a handful (double handful?) off the shelves and texted them (https://www.pan-uk.org/period-products/). I doesn't show brands.
They're also suggesting cotton production (as the 'dirtiest crop') is to blame. Unfortunately washing hygiene products like tampons before use isn't feasible for the end user.
Since they didn't mention in the article, now might be a good time to mention silicone menstrual cups as an option for those that haven't tried them.
